Ashes of Roses is a amazing book. I learned a lot about what it was like for the Irish immigrant to come to America. In the auther's note she writes that she based the main character on her great grandmother who arrived to america around 1910. I am Irish myself and my family probably went though a lot of the hardships that Rose went though. This is an breathtaking book about pain and joy.Though the eyes of a brave 16 year old girl. And i hope you will read it.
